Maple Glazed Sweet Potato

Maple Glazed Sweet Potato



  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. Peel the sweet potatoes and slice them very thinly into rounds. You can use a mandolin for this step, if you have one. Arrange the sliced sweet potato in a baking dish or casserole dish.
  3. Combine the melted butter, the maple syrup, orange zest, orange juice and salt. Pour evenly over the prepared and arranged sweet potato in the baking dish. Cover tightly with a lid or foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven, remove the lid or foil, gently flip the sweet potato slices, and return pan to the oven. Bake approximately 20 minutes longer, until sweet potatoes are tender, liquid has mostly evaporated, and the glaze is glossy and adhering to the vegetables.
  5. Remove from oven and serve immediately, or keep warm in a low oven for up to 1 hour before serving.


Maple Glazed Squash
Use the same recipes, substituting peeled and sliced winter squash for the sweet potato.
