Ancho Chili Spice Rub

  • Prep time 5 mins

This simple spice rub is a fantastic way to take your grilling to the next level. It is super simple like all spice rubs, once you have the ingredients on hand. Happy grilling.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. You can make this spice rub in smaller or larger quantities.  Just go ahead and eyeball (or measure) equal parts of all of the ingredients except maybe a little easier on the ground pepper.  Unless you love, like I do.
  2. Now you are ready to use on your burgers, steaks or even to add some pizzaz to your potato salad, scrambled eggs or stir-fry.
  3. When I am making burgers, I lightly form my patties using grass fed, grass finished Island Pastures Beef.  I do not add anything to the meat!  Then at the last moment just before grilling or even as they are on the grill I season liberally with this delicious spice rub and boom!  Next level burger.  Adding salt into your burger mix before cooking has the potential of creating more of a sausage effect, so for a nice tender delicate patty, spice up at the last minute.

Variations

Add some heat to the spice rub with Cayenne or Chipotle Chili powder.
