
Founded in 1961 on Vancouver Island, St. Jean’s Cannery & Smokehouse began with Armand St. Jean smoking oysters in a backyard smokehouse before growing into one of BC’s last remaining commercial seafood canneries. Today, the company is majority owned by five Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations, continuing a long connection to BC’s coastal seafood traditions. Known for hand-packed canned seafood and traditional smoking methods, St. Jean’s has become a trusted name in West Coast seafood for over 60 years.
