As microbiologists and whole food enthusiasts, the owners  started Tree Island in 2012 after returning from France where they tasted artisan yogurt made with fresh, whole milk. Nothing comparable existed in BC, so they set-out to create it themselves.

They are now making grass-fed, artisan yogurt at their production plant in the Comox Valley. They use 100% fresh whole BC milk, carefully select the best ingredients and handcraft their yogurt in small batches using a traditional, slow-kettle cooking method.

Their mission is to nourish the community by strengthening the local food system and promoting land stewardship.

They are committed to building a sustainable future for their children and generations to come. They support local, grass-fed dairy farms with pastures that promote healthy ecosystems and they are using 50% less plastic in their packaging.

Their team works each day towards a healthy future in this beautiful place we call home.
