They are an award winning 600 acre estate fruit winery nestled at the base of Mt. Washington on the outskirts of the beautiful Comox Valley. Their family farm is made up of four generations living and working together to produce product of the highest standard, whether it be wine, fresh market fruit, raw honey or custom milled lumber. Because of their large family and insistence of good quality, they do all the work themselves. Having the generational span from a 1 year old to a 74 year old truly creates a unique living and working environment. While it comes with its occasional challenges, the upsides of having the diversity of opinion and insight far outweigh the difficulty of an occasional disagreement!
Their 80 acres of blackberries are grown on site, making them the largest cultivated blackberry farm in all of Canada. As well, they handle all pollinating in the Vineyard with their own bees which provide them with our unique signature Blackberry Honey and their fine selection of Meads.
Growing more than just blackberries they have an additional 20 acres of both blueberries and raspberries. In all of their operations they strive for organic practices and preservation of the land, air and waterways. In areas where they require a few more hands they employ a crew of labourers out of Mexico. They live on site for seven months of the year and are always an anticipated addition to the spring work force.
Currently, they have four years of wine sales and several domestic and international awards under their belt and with greater experience and insight the are constantly developing and improving their wine style. The experiences we can offer at the winery have also grown in leaps and bounds since opening. With the addition of a wood fired, brick pizza oven, patio bistro and an open “barn” style event space they can accommodate groups for weddings and events of up to 350 people.
