Country Grocer at Chemainus is looking for a Produce Clerk (FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME) to join our family! The produce department is responsible for providing a “WOW” factor with our eye-catching displays, top-notch freshness, and superb helpful service that make our customer in awe.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide professional and courteous service while demonstrating excellent customer service and maintaining produce section displays pleasing to customer
• Preparing and packaging produce for sale
• Price items using stamp or stickers according to price list
• Stock shelves and display areas and keep stock clean and in order
• Direct customers to location of product sought and assist with inquiries
• May sweep aisles, dust display racks and perform other general cleaning duties

Experience:

• Related retail experience is an asset but not required
• No work experience is welcome to apply

Working Conditions:

• Ability to safely bend, twist, and lift up to 50lbs on a consistent basis
• Ability to walk and stand for a long period of hours
• Ability to maintain a safe working environment and follow all safety procedures
• A high-level of motivation and a proactive attitude
• Desire to provide outstanding customer service and to comply with established department procedures and safe work practice
• A willingness to learn and openness to coaching and feedback

Schedule Requirements:

• Ability to work during Afternoon , Evening shifts
• Amenable to work between 20 to 24 hours a week for PART-TIME and 40 hours a week for FULL-TIME

Pay Range:

• $16.75- $20.00 an hour
