Our Country Grocer location on Lake Cowichan is ready to stock up on some talent with a new Part‑Time or Full-time Cashier!
Country Grocer has been a grocery provider for over 40 years on Vancouver Island. Family-owned and operated, Country Grocer has earned a reputation as a truly local company with a deep commitment to our surrounding communities and to the Island’s farmers, growers and producers.
About the Position:
- Process customer’s grocery orders efficiently and accurately
- Provide excellent customer service
- Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
- Follow all cash handling procedures
- Learn product codes and differentiate between similar products
- Issue receipts, refunds, and credits
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized checkout area
- Other duties as required
About the Schedule:
- Must have open availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- 24 hours per week
About Our Pay:
Pay: CA$18.25 – CA$22 per hour

- Effective interpersonal skills and can engage easily customers
- Willingness to take initiative, contribute actively, and complete tasks with a hands on approach
- Ability stay effective under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Commitment to following established procedures and adhering to safe work practices
- Openness to ongoing learning, coaching, and constructive feedback
About the Working Conditions
- Ability to walk, stand, and work with other team members to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without any reasonable accommodation
