Lake Cowichan Village Market announces name change to Country Grocer.

Lake Cowichan, BC (October 2, 2008) – Effective October 8th, Lake Cowichan Village Market will change its name to Country Grocer aligning with the other stores on Southern Vancouver Island and Saltspring Island operating under the Country Grocer banner.

The realignment of the company’s operations will better support the customers’ needs and is an appropriate name for the company. Country Grocer uses local resources and provides a comfortable environment to shop in, high quality products in every department, competitive pricing, friendly helpful staff that is committed to helping make customers’ experience a great one every time they visit. The chain believes in purchasing local products as much as possible and providing groceries to its customers the traditional way. “With all stores working together, everybody benefits”, says Country Grocer Director, Peter Cavin.

Peter and Jo-Anne Pimlott, and the staff of the Village Market are very excited to be joining the Country Grocer group. “This fantastic move forward will provide us with the opportunity to bring both our customers and staff many new opportunities, while still keeping many of our valued traditions. Maintaining our 100% locally owned and operated business will enable us to continue to provide the community with support for local events and charities and continue to be your local grocery store and a whole lot more”, says owner Jo-Anne Pimlott.

The staff and management invite customers to join them in a celebration as they embark on their wonderful new adventure on Saturday October 11th, 2008 to celebrate the name change. Festivities will include complimentary coffee and cake, as well as a hot dog sale with all proceeds going to the Nichole Stock Penny Drive.
