It’s our annual Help Fill a Dream Promotion to help Vancouver Island and Salt Spring Island Kids!

Country Grocer Employees and Customers Ready to Become Dream Makers

Victoria, Wednesday, November 1 2, 2014 – Country Grocer will once again help Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands’ children with life – threatening conditions with every Dream Bouquet, paper shirt or island – grown Christmas tree sold between November 14, 2014 and December 14, 2014. New this year is the addition of delicious Dream Cakes and Christmas tree chipping (at select locations). Proceeds will go to the Help Fill a Dream Foundation.

“All the funds raised from this promotion help Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands’ children achieve their Dreams,” said Help Fill A Dream Executive Director Craig Smith “Help Fill A Dream cannot make a child well but we can offer families a respite for the stress and frustration they are experiencing. Help Fill A Dream can offer hope.”

Dreams come in all shapes and sizes. A child’s dream may be a trip to Disneyland or to meet their favourite celebrity; while for their parents, the dream may simply be to spend time with their child as they undergo medical treatment or to make life more comfortable when they come home.

“As the number of requests for Dreams continues to grow, we are extremely proud that, with the support of our generous community partners like Country Grocer and their suppliers, we can continue to say “yes” to the increasing number of children who need the gift of a Dream,” said Smith.”

Money raised by Country Grocer and its customers helps children like one year old Ayvrie. Ayvrie suffers from severe chronic lung disease. I n June 2014, Help Fill A Dream purchased an oximeter to monitor the oxygen levels in Ayvrie’s blood. Ayvrie spent the first seven months of her life in neonatal intensive care receiving complicated treatment so she could breathe on her own. And then for another five months, she was in pediatric intensive care.

Established in 1984, Country Grocer is a proud 100% Vancouver Island and Salt Spring Island company with seven stores and more than 600 employees. It is one of the Islands’ most cherished grocery companies with a strong set of values and principles.

Help Fill A Dream provides hope, help and happiness for children with life – threatening conditions. The Foundation fulfills dreams, improves quality of life and assists families with care and financial support.
