Saltspring Island, BC (October 2nd, 2008) – Effective October 8th, Ganges Village Market will change its name to Country Grocer aligning with the other stores on Southern Vancouver Island operating under the Country Grocer banner.
The realignment of the company’s operations will better support the customers’ needs and is an appropriate name for the company. Country Grocer uses local resources and provides a comfortable environment to shop in, high quality products in every department, competitive pricing, friendly helpful staff that is committed to helping make customers’ experience a great one every time they visit. The group believes in purchasing local products as much as possible and providing groceries to its customers the traditional way. “With all stores working together, everybody benefits”, says Country Grocer Director, Peter Cavin.
“We here at your Community Grocery Store are very excited to be moving forward under the Country Grocer banner. We are a 100% Saltspring Island owned and operated business and will remain that way with second and third generations of the co-founder. We are committed to bringing the best possible product at the best possible price”, says General Manager, Paul Large. “Please be assured that the name on the door may be changing but all the things that made us popular will remain the same like our double coupon Monday’s, 10% OFF Tuesday’s and the popular Save a Tape program which is on track to give back over $100,000 to the community this year! Our Country Crew (some of which have been here since opening in June 1984) look forward to serving you at the Open House on Saturday October 11th, 2008”, says Large.
Country Grocer invites customers to the store on Saturday October 11th, 2008 to celebrate the name change. Festivities will include door crasher specials, free cake and coffee and a BBQ to raise money for Saltspring Youth Groups.Back to Media
