Our Royal Oak store is looking to welcome a Full-time Seafood Supervisor to our team! Schedule Requirements:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings and weekends
  • 40 hours/week

What will you do?

  • Order all fresh and frozen seafood product for department as well as required supplies
  • Develop good rapport with seafood suppliers
  • Receive and inspect seafood shipments, verifying quantity and quality
  • Build and maintain creative, eye catching service cases, taking advantage of appropriate cross-marketing opportunities
  • Demonstrate and maintain a high level of Seafood knowledge; help customers uncover the best product for their needs
  • Process special orders as required
  • Collaborate with Meat Manager and other Team Members to maximize store sales and customer service opportunities
  • Support Meat Department as operations required
  • Clean tools, surfaces and display cases, maintain general Seafood and Meat department tidiness
  • Ensure accuracy in all transactions, inventory, and procedures
  • Understand and follow all pertinent Food Safety guidelines, procedures and requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required

Experience and Education:

  • Seafood knowledge and expertise
  • 1 year working in a Meat and/or Seafood Department
  • Current Food Safe certification is an asset, however Country Grocer will cover the cost of certification upon successful hire

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely bend, twist and lift up to 50lbs on a consistent basis
  • Ability to walk and stand for the duration of scheduled shift
  • Exposure and handling of sharp objects, and machinery
  • Exposure to slick floors and extreme temperatures (freezers, coolers)
