At our Country Grocer Sushi bar our mission is to provide customers with a variety of delicious raw, cooked, and vegetarian sushi rolls, accompanied by our specialty poke bowls. As a Sushi Clerk, you’ll play a key role in creating the many great sushi products we offer all while providing top-notch service to our customers! We are looking for someone passionate and experienced in all things sushi to join our team at the Ladysmith Country Grocer.

The Job:

• As a Sushi clerk, you’ll be rolling sushi, cutting seafood, steaming rice and pricing product at the Sushi Bar.
• Upholding and maintaining our safe and sanitary work practices, maintaining clean work surfaces, knives, and all other equipment.
• Offering enthusiastic service to our customers and ensuring all prepared sushi items are properly labeled and rotated while maintaining appropriately stocked shelves.
• Maintaining and tidying up the department or taking on any other required department duties as needed.

• Ensures incredible service is provided to every customer.
• Handles a variety of tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Follows recipes and has great knife skills and cooking techniques.
• Capable of preparing a variety of menu items to produce a consistent outcome.

Experience and Requirements:

• Food preparation experience.
• Level 1 Food Safe certificate is an asset.
• Ability to safely bend, twist, reach and lift up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis.
• Ability to walk and stand for long durations.
• Ability to maintain a safe working environment and follow all established safety procedures.
