Spiced Apple Cider

  • Prep time 10 mins
  • Cook time 30 mins

This is the perfect après ski drink or something warm to offer house guests. It warms you up from the inside out and similar to sangria, the whole pieces of apple and orange are wonderful to eat once your drink is finished!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Add the juice, cloves, cinnamon and allspice to an appropriately sized pot.
  2. Remove the core from the apple and cut into very small pieces.  Add to the pot with the juice immediately to prevent them from browning.
  3. Zest the orange with a zester or microplane and add to the juice.  Now with a paring knife, cut and remove the rest of the orange rind.  Cut in half and remove the center white vein of orange and then cut the orange into very small pieces.  Add to the pot.
  4. Heat the cider mixture on medium-low heat (just below a simmer) for 30 minutes and it will be ready to serve!  Enjoy.

Variations

  • Spike this with a little light rum as an option.
