Country Grocer Esquimalt hosting 3rd annual pumpkin carving event in support of United Way of Greater Victoria.

Victoria, BC (October 16th, 2008) – Country Grocer Esquimalt and the United Way of Greater Victoria are pleased to announce the 3rd annual pumpkin carving event.

On October 25th, from 11am-2pm at Country Grocer Esquimalt, located at 1153 Esquimalt Rd in Victoria, the store will be hosting numerous family fun events such as pumpkin carving, face painting, a BBQ by donation for the United Way of Victoria and much more. Esquimalt Neighbourhood House will be on location as well giving a free beading workshop.

“We understand the importance of investing in local programs that benefit families and the community as a whole. We are delighted to be able to give to this worthwhile cause and have some fun at the same time”, says Store Manager, Jason Boer.

Last year’s event raised over $400 that directly benefited the United Way of Greater Victoria.

This year, Country Grocer Esquimalt will match any donations raised from the event.

This year, the United Way of Greater Victoria campaign is focusing on three major areas of need: Housing for homeless, low income and working poor, mental health and addiction and healthy families and communities.
