Cobble Hill, BC (December 9th, 2008) – Karen Underwood, Country Grocer Cobble Hill Senior Bakery Clerk, has the Christmas spirit and knows how to give back.

On November 11th, 2008, Karen started baking and constructing an entire Christmas Village made from gingerbread. The display sits at Country Grocer Cobble Hill for all customers to see and enjoy throughout the Christmas Season. This is Karen’s eighth year building and constructing the Christmas Village for seniors.

“We appreciate all the hard work and volunteer hours Karen puts into this initiative”, says Country Grocer Director, Peter Cavin.

Just before Christmas the village is dismantled and delivered to various organizations in the Cowichan Valley for an ultimate Christmas treat. Organizations such as Cowichan District Hospital, Cowichan Lodge, Wedgewood House, Cairns More and Acacia Lodge and many more benefit from the tasty treats.
